Breastfeeding during pregnancy and tandem feeding

The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends that babies be breastfed exclusively for the first 6 months, followed by continued breastfeeding to 2 years and beyond, alongside the introduction of appropriate family foods. When breastfeeding continues in this way, a mother may find herself breastfeeding her child through a subsequent pregnancy or tandem feeding both children after the arrival of a new baby. This can be a positive experience for all.
