Hello everyone
Is it me or is there something about September and a feeling that the year is almost over?
Seriously – it’s probably just me.
Certainly there is plenty of time for you to register for ABA’s one day breastfeeding seminar in Brisbane: Bump, Breast and Beyond on Sunday 19 October. There is a great line-up of speakers covering everything from the individual breastfeeding journey to infant sleep and growth and development. You don’t have to be from Brisbane to attend this bonus event. Why not fly to Brisbane and make a weekend of it?!
It was absolutely lovely to be back at an ABA local group meeting in Melbourne last week to present the 2025 Mary Paton Breastfeeding Research Award to this year’s winner Deborah Bartrip. Deb’s winning paper is an integrative review of the barriers and enablers of breastfeeding after caesarean birth and focuses on what clinicians can do to support mums with breastfeeding in this situation. Look out in the November edition of ABA’s peer-reviewed journal Breastfeeding Review for the whole article.
And just in case you ARE feeling like 2025 is falling away too quickly, you can easily access some quality CPD points from ABA to reach your professional development goals for the year. Why not learn more about preventing iron deficiency in infants via our two interactive e-modules – discounted until early 2026.
Until next time
