Hi everyone,

Welcome to the news for our May edition!

The Federal Government’s review of the MAIF agreement is well underway now. ABA met with the consulting firm Allen and Clarke this month to provide our assessment of MAIF as it stands, it’s processes and flaws. You can see the Terms of Reference here.. There is a public survey you can complete as an individual. The questions aren’t all compulsory so you can answer as many or as little as you feel appropriate. Now is an amazing opportunity to make a change to the regulation of marketing of breastmilk substitutes. Check it out here.

Have you had the chance to join us in asking the Federal Government to commit to the continued funding of the National Breastfeeding Helpline? It isn’t too late. You can still do this via the DoGooder platform. Many are confirming that this is super easy to do and takes only one minute – just enter your post code, name and email address and a letter gets sent off to your Federal MP with your name on it. You can even edit the letter to add your personal thoughts if you have extra time.
