Hi everyone,
I am in Queensland and autumn has hit with gorgeous cold crisp mornings and blue skies. How can it be nearly May?
Things are going to be super busy at ABA for the next little while. May is action packed. Starting 3 May and ending on Mother’s Day is National Mothering Week which will serve as an acknowledgment of the millions of mums across Australia and the very special role that they play in our lives.
A bit further along in May we will acknowledge the incredible work and contributions of our volunteers during National Volunteer Week.
We are in the very early stages of preparing our next Live Panel to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of The World Health Organization’s Code of Marketing of Breastmilk Substitutes. We will be joined by Dr Nina Chad, Dr Karleen Gribble and LCANZ. Mark your calendars now and stay tuned for more information and registration details. The panel will be held at 8 pm on 24 May via Zoom. CERPs will be applied for.
Did you notice our Feature article this month is written by Prof Helen Ball from Durham University, UK and the Baby Sleep Information Service (BASIS)? The article discusses normal baby sleep. This is timed beautifully for the release of our updated and refreshed Breastfeeding and Sleep brochure which will be available soon for purchase.
Finally, there are only 5 weeks left to access our Health Professional Seminar series online. You can find more information about the program, the professional development points applied and how to register here.
Please make sure you check out the Research Summaries and Feature article this month and it’s always worth checking in on our online eLearning modules. We are adding to the collection all the time.
Take care,
Naomi Hull
