Hi everyone,
Another month gone by, but it sure has been action packed here at ABA. We have celebrated National Mothering Week, National Volunteer Week and taken our one millionth call on the Breastfeeding Helpline since 2008. We have also acknowledged the 40th Anniversary of The WHO Code with our Live Panel held on 24 May.
The Live Panel will be available by the end of May in our online eLearning platform here. There will be Professional Development points available for those that need them (one E-CERP).
If you are not already a professional member of ABA or you are due for renewal soon, why not get in before the 30 June to include the cost in this year’s tax return? If you are not already a member check here to see the inclusions. Being an ABA Professional Member helps you to stay in touch with the latest research and events to support you in your work with mothers and babies.
Our Fact Sheet this month is on Breastfeeding Multiples. Along with the fact sheet for you, we of course have our popular booklet available for the mums of multiples that you work with.
Here at ABA, we are always on the look out for beautiful breastfeeding images and would love any that include you alongside a mum and baby/child. If you would like to share any images that you may have, please be in touch with us by email at: bir@breastfeeding.asn.au and I will provide you with a permission form. It is important not to have brand names in the shot. However, sometimes they can be blurred out and it is always good not to have the mother’s head cut off. Don’t ask for much, do I? Great breastfeeding photos can be hard to come by in the usual stock images and we love to keep our publications and webpages looking as fresh as possible.
Take care,
Naomi Hull, Senior Manager Breastfeeding Information and Research
